RULES & REGULATIONS

General:

By purchasing a ticket in this lottery, the purchaser acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the rules and regulations.

The odds of winning in general terms are 1 in 700. All inquiries on the odds of winning are to be made to the licensee prior to the ticket purchase.  Only 3,500 tickets are available.  Tickets are not tax deductible and must be purchased within the Province of Ontario.  Purchasers must be at least 18 years of age.  Tickets are $35.00 each.  Only one method of payment can be made.  Only one name can be recorded on each ticket.

Alcohol and Gaming Commission regulations prohibit the following individuals and all of their immediate family members residing in the same household from purchasing a ticket: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville employees, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville board of directors and committee members, and members of the licensed gaming suppliers providing services to the lottery program.

Tickets:

Only tickets that have been paid for and have been verified as paid for are eligible for respective draws.  Tickets cannot be purchased in the name of a minor.  It is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to ensure that they have received their ticket(s) before the draw commences.  Tickets cannot be reimbursed once draws commence.  The liability of the licensee of this lottery shall be limited to the purchase price of the ticket.

Prizes:

There are five (5) prizes with a combined value of $47,577.29 (including all taxes and freight) that will be awarded.  All prizes are tax exempt.  The prizes will be awarded to the primary ticket holder.  It is the responsibility of the primary ticket holder to allocate the prize as necessary.  All prizes will be drawn in reverse order according to the prize value; i.e. least value drawn first and the most value drawn last.  After each draw, the winner is recorded and the ticket number then goes back for the next draw.

Prizes and images may not be exactly as shown.  All prizes must be accepted as awarded.  Prize values are approximate retail value as of November 2009, and include all applicable taxes and freight.  Vehicle winners are responsible to license and insure the vehicle prizes from the time of ownership.  Prize(s) must be claimed within one year after the draw date.  Prize winners are asked to claim their prize(s) in a timely manner following notification.  Unclaimed prizes will be reported and a charitable allocation will be approved by the licensing body.

Winners Notification:

All prize winners will be published in the Recorder & Times and the EMC newspapers.  A complete list of winners will be available at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville office and on the agency’s website (www.mentoringmatters.ca).  All winners will be contacted by phone and/or by mail.  All winners will be announced on local radio.  The Winners agree to the use of their name and photo for publicity purposes by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville.
