Prescott After School Program Needs Volunteers

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Leeds and Grenville is once again offering an After School Program Monday through Friday to the children of Wellington Public School in Prescott.

The Program focuses on promoting health and wellness, fostering peer relationships, and building self-esteem. Each day the students will enjoy some free play, healthy snacks, curriculum based activities and some active games and sports. The After School Program is a great way for children to be mentored by responsible adults while learning valuable skills and making new friends.

In order to make this program a huge success we are calling upon members of the community to volunteer once or twice a week. The volunteers would need to be available between 3:20-5:00pm on their designated day(s) of the week.  The program begins on September 28th and finishes on June 2nd and runs each school day with the exception of holidays and inclement weather days. All of our volunteers will be safety trained by our staff and learn the best strategies for working with kids.

This is a great opportunity for high school students interested in a career working with children, looking to complete their community service hours, or for those who live in the community that are looking for a way to give back.

Visit www.mentoringmatters.ca to register as a volunteer, or call our office 613-345-0281. Why not start something BIG and volunteer with the Prescott After School Program!

This program is funded by RBC Foundation.
